Job summary

Nevada Power Company, d/b/a NV Energy seeks a Software Engineer 3 to architect, design, code, test, document and maintain complex applications and interfaces in Las Vegas, NV. The role includes technical leadership on smaller to mid-sized projects and collaboration with IT teams to improve systems and processes.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor degree in MIS/CS and at least 5 years of experience, with strong Oracle and UNIX skills, SDLC adherence, and production support experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree, or equivalent, in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 5 years of experience in the job offered.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, code, test, document, implement and maintain more complex application programs and interfaces.
• Provide leadership for highly complex projects related to development of new systems/architecture.
• Perform project planning, system analysis, software design and coding, testing, documentation, implementation and research for software engineering projects.
• Provide technical support; problem determination and investigation; upgrades for developed applications.
