Join our dynamic team as a Senior Technical Fellow within Advanced Technology & Capabilities organization. This individual will lead strategic roadmap development and work closely with cross-functional leaders to drive innovation, build team cohesion and understand how to influence teams to make value added changes and develop a positive culture of continuous improvement.

The Senior Technical Fellow will own the establishment and execution of medium-term to long-term strategic roadmaps, plans, objectives, vision statements that align technology, customer (DOD) needs and create opportunities for our future business.

This person must demonstrate a profound technical proficiency along with exceptional communication and presentation skills, as they play a pivotal role in shaping and influencing the business strategy which requires both depth and breadth in key technologies.

As a key engineering member, in conjunction with the General Managers and Business Development leads, the Senior Technical Fellow will develop the strategies in Data & AI required to enable pursuits and capture growth via strategic roadmaps.

This visionary role entails aligning with customer needs and shaping/influencing future requirements of the Department of Defense (DoD).

The Senior Technical Fellow will leverage expertise in Data & AI to drive strategic decision-making integrating advanced technologies to enhance mission effectiveness and develop innovative solutions to complex defense operational problems.

Another key aspect of this role involves providing enterprise mentorship to engineering disciplines, where other Technical Directors and Chief Engineers will seek counsel and guidance from the ATC Senior Technical Fellow.

This accomplished Technical Fellow will actively engage in other RTX business units and will be recognized for their technical expertise internally and externally to Collins.

What You Will Do:

• Lead the AI & Data technology roadmap and support integration into product line strategies for JADC2 solutions.
• Collaborate with leaders across Mission Systems and beyond to integrate AI solutions into JADC2 systems and processes.
• Lead the establishment of objectives for execution of mapping and modeling of key engineering business process flows.
• Partner with divisional senior executive leadership, key stakeholders, process owners, and subject matter experts to identify and communicate key customer strategic initiatives.
• Work closely with Business Development on market trends and define the technology needs required to align the portfolio.
• Lead in the definition and execution of engineering policies and procedures that bring value to programs.
• Mentor programs leaders, customer desires, wants and needs.
• Identify and structure improvement opportunities and projects.
• Lead cross-discipline teams to bring focus to strategic projects.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across departments and business units.
• Present your ideas to internal and external groups; lead proposal and white paper activities.
• Understand and promote key analytical projects that assist and influence the business.
• Be a resource for policy knowledge and provide strategic guidance on related issues to leadership.
• Active engagement with RTX Business Units and recognized as an expert externally.
• Provide leadership to facilitate high-quality technical decisions.
• Engagement across the enterprise to share expertise, driving quality and success.
• Lead the development and execution of strategic plans to advance product technology.

• Selected candidate will be required to obtain and maintain special access program (SAP) clearance and/or an SCI clearance.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Demonstrated experience designing and implementing machine learning models and algorithms.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and their application in command and control environments.
• Proficiency with embedded C/C++ and scripting languages (Bash & Python).
• Experience with creating and maintaining strategic roadmaps and customer trend analysis.
• Requires expert knowledge and mastery of multiple work areas typically obtained through advanced academic qualifications.
• Experience with establishing or modifying customer requirements to drive positive results.
• Executive level communication skills.
• Possess Patents, Publications, and/or Technical Presentations to industry.
• Familiarity with Earned Value Management best practices.
• Typically requires a degree in STEM and minimum 14 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 12 years of experience.
• Active and transferable DoD Secret Clearance is required prior to start date.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Technical expert level understanding of the operational environment as it relates to relevant technologies.
• Familiarity with simulation and modeling tools for command and control scenarios.
• Direct recent experience working JADC2.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Experience with big data technologies and data visualization tools.
• Exceptional engineering analytical and decision-making skills.
• Experience leading and training technical teams.
• Current Top Secret/SCI clearance is preferred.
