Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Technical Editor and Writer to support the Armament Systems site in Mesa, AZ. The role emphasizes writing, editing, and illustrating complex technical manuals for field service operations.

Required are DoD practices knowledge, strong editing skills, and the ability to read engineering drawings. The position may be filled at Level 3 or Level 4 based on experience. Northrop Grumman offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a related field; 5+ years of technical editor/writer experience or master's degree with 3+ years
Experience developing, writing and illustrating mechanical and electrical procedures for field service technical manuals
Knowledge of DoD practices (TO 00-5-1, Mil-STD-38784, MIL-STD-3048, MIL-STD-1808)
Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, specs, and system descriptions

Responsibilities

Writes, rewrites and edits technical documents (manuals, specifications) to communicate clearly
Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers and referencing specs
Oversees preparation of illustrations and diagrams; conducts quality reviews of materials
May fill as Principal or Sr Principal depending on credentials
