Job summary

The Employee Connect is seeking a Technical Editor for an onsite, permanent role in New England, North Dakota. This position ensures the clarity, accuracy, and consistency of technical documentation for government customers throughout the entire document lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, communications, journalism, technical writing, or related field; or equivalent editing experience.
• Technical editing experience with a portfolio or track record for technical material, especially for government/customer audiences.
• Strong command of English grammar, usage, and punctuation; proficient with Word styles, templates, track changes, cross-referencing.

Responsibilities

• Edit technical documents, reports, manuals, and deliverables for grammar, syntax, clarity, and consistency across authors.
• Enforce compliance with style guides, government formatting standards, and contract requirements; ensure consistent terminology, acronyms, numbering, and citations.
• Perform substantive editing and copyediting, restructure sections for logical flow, flag gaps, tighten verbose passages, and query authors when meaning is ambiguous.
