The role requires a Master’s degree in a related field and 10+ years’ experience with editorial lifecycles, plus expert knowledge of GPO Style Manual and government publication standards. Remote work options are available.

Qualifications

• Must have a Master’s degree in English, Journalism, Technical Communication, Communications, or related field.
• At least 10 years of progressively responsible technical editing experience including supervisory responsibilities.
• Experience managing complete editorial lifecycles for technical reports, manuals, and digital content.
• Expert knowledge of GPO Style Manual and editorial standards; strong proofreading and fact-checking skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead editorial review and QA of technical reports, manuals, and digital content.
• Manage the complete editorial lifecycle from manuscript development to final publication.
• Ensure editorial consistency, accuracy, and compliance with style guides and standards.
• Edit complex technical documents to improve clarity without altering technical intent.
• Collaborate with researchers, engineers, and government stakeholders throughout publication process.
• Mentor and guide junior editors and writers; oversee publication schedules.
