Job summary

Theatre Aspen is seeking a full-time, year-round Technical Director/Production Manager (or Technical Director) to lead our production operations. The role combines hands-on scenery work with administrative duties, budgeting, and staffing across our program, including education and MainStage projects.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in theatre production, strong scenic/rigging knowledge, and be prepared to relocate to the Roaring Fork Valley. Housing subsidy is available as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of relevant experience in theatre production.
• Strong scenic and rigging knowledge.
• Experience in outdoor or non-traditional venues.
• Residency in or relocation to the Roaring Fork Valley (housing subsidy available).

Responsibilities

• Oversee hands-on technical build and execution of scenery and productions.
• Lead technical operations, including staffing, scheduling, and budgets.
• Manage departmental budgets and coordinate cross‑departmental planning.
