Job summary

Theatre Aspen, a leading professional theatre in the Colorado mountains, seeks a full-time Assistant Director of Development to bolster fundraising and donor relations. The role blends campaign planning, donor research, and event support within a small development team, with opportunities for cross-year NYC travel and Aspen-based work.

Ability to relocate seasonally is a plus. The ideal candidate has nonprofit fundraising experience, attention to detail, and is passionate about theatre.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Strong interpersonal, written communication, and phone etiquette.
• Extremely organized with a sharp attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in both a relationship-building and administrative capacity.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience in arts administration preferred.
• Experience with Salesforce, PatronManager or similar CRM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support research, planning, and execution of fundraising campaigns.
• Monitor online contributions with PatronManager and maintain records.
• Send acknowledgements to donors.
• Conduct donor research and new fund sourcing.
• Maintain donor communications by phone and email.
• Assist in managing membership programs.
• Create data analysis reports to track donor metrics.
• Track and fulfill pledges; keep mailing lists accurate.
• Support planning and execution of the annual gala and events.
• Assist in grants research, drafting, and reporting.
