Job summary

Applied Materials seeks a Senior Technical Director for the Global Field Group in Hillsboro, OR to lead strategic initiatives across deposition, etch, anneal, and metrology. You will partner with customers to identify yield, performance and cost challenges and translate insights into multi-product programs and roadmaps.

You will mentor engineers, influence product strategy, and work across cross-functional teams to drive high-impact solutions at customer sites worldwide.

Qualifications

• B.S. in engineering or M.S. in Physics, Chemistry, or related STEM field; advanced degree preferred.
• 12+ years of experience in wafer fab or semiconductor capital equipment.
• 15+ years preferred in semiconductor capital equipment process engineering or related field.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical programs and partnering with customers at senior levels.

Responsibilities

• Lead account-wide strategic initiatives for device yield, performance, and cost improvement across multiple AMAT product areas.
• Interface with customers across deposition, etch, anneal, and metrology to form strategic partnerships.
• Identify technology inflections through customer engagement and translate into product roadmaps.
• Ensure alignment between internal groups (commercial, technical, operations) for key initiatives.
• Own timelines, milestones, risk management, and deliverables for strategic initiatives and CIP.
• Act as the senior technical authority for the account, mentoring engineers and influencing cross-functional teams.
