Job summary

Pacsun is seeking a Senior Technical Designer to manage fit and construction for women's bottoms. This role leads technical design staff, conducts live-model fit sessions with cross-functional teams, and resolves issues quickly for on-time delivery.

The position requires a fashion design or textiles degree, 10+ years in technical design, and strong pattern-making and denim experience, with knowledge of PLM tools and Illustrator. Travel to Asia may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree in fashion design, apparel production or textiles
• Minimum 10 years of proven technical design experience
• Minimum of 5 years of pattern making knowledge
• Minimum of 3+ yrs of women’s bottom experience
• Denim experience minimum of 3+ years
• Advanced knowledge of garment construction, fabric characteristics and performance standards
• Working knowledge of digital pattern systems, PLM systems, Illustrator and Excel
• Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment with a keen sense of urgency
• Ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams
• Ability to adapt and be self-motivated

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise Technical Designers
• Direct fit sessions on live models with cross-functional teams to evaluate fit and construction
• Articulate fit issues and present solutions during fit sessions
• Communicate fit issues to vendors via Bamboo Rose PLM system and pattern corrections
• Apply grade rules and update pattern corrections
• Maintain accuracy of tech packs and construction pages
• Build and maintain library of basic block patterns
• Establish construction standards for fabric types
• Ensure brand fit, spec, and construction consistency
• Collaborate with Design during tech pack development
• Travel to Asia as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned
