Wool&Prince seeks a hands-on Technical Designer & Pattern Maker in Portland to own technical design, fit, patternmaking, construction, and quality from handoff through production. You will maintain precise technical documentation and manage development timelines for market-ready styles.

You will drive pattern revisions, fit sessions, and accurate production specs while partnering with Design, Product Development, and vendors to minimize lead-time risks and uphold quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design or a related field.
• 8+ years of relevant apparel experience.
• Advanced understanding of garment fit, balance, construction, grading, specifications, and manufacturing methods.
• Professional experience in technical design and apparel patternmaking, including hands-on pattern drafting and correction.
• Proficiency in PLM systems, Adobe Illustrator, Microsoft Excel, and Google Workspace. Experience with Browzwear is a plus.
• Motivated, collaborative self-starter with strong strategic thinking, creative problem-solving skills, and a solutions-oriented approach.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet calendar deadlines, and deliver accurate, complete technical work in a fast-paced product-development environment.

Responsabilités

• Own technical design, fit, patternmaking, construction, and quality execution for styles from handoff through production approval.
• Manage development against Time and Action calendar with fit reviews, pattern revisions, and technical deliverables.
• Draft, revise, and correct patterns for intended fit, balance, and production feasibility.
• Lead fit sessions and provide direction on fit, pattern, grading, construction, and workmanship.
• Translate design intent into production-ready specs, tech packs, measurement standards, and grade rules.
• Measure and prepare samples for fit sessions with complete information and materials.
• Maintain consistent standards across men’s and women’s product categories.
• Communicate with vendors to ensure timelines, quality, and corrective actions.
• Identify risks with Design/Product teams and propose practical solutions.
• Wash and evaluate development samples for functionality and durability; suggest corrective action.
• Update technical design standards and vendor manuals.
• Travel to factories to evaluate fit, patternmaking, construction, and quality challenges.
