Job summary

Sweet Apparel Inc. in New York, NY, is seeking an Associate Technical Designer to join the Athleisure Development team on-site at our Midtown Manhattan office.

You will work across Juniors, Missy, Plus, and Children's lines, ensuring precise fit, construction call-outs, and timely tech packs. The role requires a degree in Technical or Fashion Design and 4+ years in technical design, with strong PLM and Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level/degree in Technical Design or Fashion Design.
• 4+ years of experience in Technical Design.
• Knowledge of sewing construction, patternmaking, garment manufacturing and fabrics.
• Proficiency in PLM and Excel; Clo3D knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Work with multiple product categories within Athleisure division (tops, skorts, shorts/pants, dresses, sweaters, sets, activewear & lounge) for Juniors, Missy, Plus, and Children’s.
• Attend hand-off meetings with Design team
• Accurately measure Inspiration/Reference samples and advise construction call-outs
• Adjust fit or design details to meet target customer needs
• Attend Development fittings and take detailed notes
• Create initial tech packs for new Development/Showroom samples/costing
• Understand grading
• Adhere to calendar to ensure deadlines
• Track and manage sample status
• Assist with keeping sample library/showroom organized
• Build collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams including design, merchandising, production, and sales.

Sweet Apparel Inc. is a leader in Junior's, Women's, Men's, and Kids fast fashion apparel. Sweet Apparel designs, manufactures, and imports apparel under its own labels as well as multiple Private labels. Our clothing can be found at major retailers including TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Ross, Macy's, and more. The company is growing and looking for a full-time, Associate Technical Designer to join the Athleisure Development team on-site at the Midtown Manhattan office.
