Job summary

Sweet Apparel Inc. in Midtown Manhattan is seeking an Assistant / Associate Technical Designer to support apparel development across multiple product categories.

This on-site role collaborates with design, production, and operations to ensure fit, construction, and production feasibility. You will review fit samples, update technical packages, measure garments, communicate revisions, and coordinate with overseas offices to meet calendars.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Technical Design preferred
• 1–3 years of experience in Technical Design; sweaters experience a plus
• Understanding of garment construction, fit, grading and patternmaking principles
• Experience with technical packages, measurement specs and fit samples
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Illustrator preferred
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Responsibilities

• Support Technical Design Lead in reviewing fit samples and implementing pattern corrections
• Assist with measuring garments and verifying specifications
• Update and maintain technical packages, measurement charts, and fit comments
• Apply feedback to patterns and technical docs with clear revisions
• Coordinate with overseas offices and factory partners for timely updates
• Track sample status, fit approvals, and development milestones
• Review graded specifications and measurements for accuracy
• Maintain organized records of fit comments, approvals, and tech files
• Help ensure products meet brand standards, retailer requirements, and production feasibility
• Support special technical design initiatives as needed
