Job summary

Sweet Apparel Inc. is seeking a Senior Technical Designer to join the team on-site at the Midtown Manhattan office. This on-site role requires commuting to NYC five days a week and focuses on athleisure across Juniors, Missy, Plus, and Mens lines.

The candidate will lead fit sessions, create tech packs, and ensure production-ready corrections with private label projects. Clo3D experience is a plus; the ideal candidate has strong detail and communication skills in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Technical Design or Fashion Design
• 8+ years experience in Apparel Technical Design
• Knowledge of sewing construction, patternmaking, garment manufacturing, and fabrics.
• Proficient in PLM and Excel
• Clo3d experience is preferred, but not required
• Attention to detail, sense of urgency, willingness to learn, team-player
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Work with multiple product categories within Athleisure division (tops, pants, shorts, sets, dresses, skirts, activewear, and lounge) for Juniors, Missy, Plus, and Mens sizes
• Accurately measure Fit/PP/TOP samples
• Lead fit sessions and take detailed notes
• Identify and call out any fit/construction/workmanship issues to be addressed and communicate all corrections and revisions to factory
• Create initial tech packs for development/costing and fit sample submits
• Ensure all corrections have been made at the pre-production sample stage to perfect the fit/quality for production
• Work with Private label accounts to achieve desired fit
• Knowledge of grading and ability to issue graded specs
• Ability to adhere to calendar to ensure deadlines are met
• Track and manage sample status
• Log in samples and assist with keeping sample library organized
• Build collaborative relationships with cross-functional teams including design, merchandising, production, and sales

Sweet Apparel Inc. is a leader in Juniors, Womens, Mens, and Kids fast fashion apparel. Sweet Apparel designs, manufactures, and imports apparel under its own labels as well as multiple Private labels. Our clothing can be found at major retailers including TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Ross, Macy's, and more. We are growing and looking for a full-time, Senior Technical Designer to join the team on-site at the Midtown Manhattan office.

Please note: this is an on-site position in Midtown Manhattan where we work in office 5 days/week!

• *Must currently live in the NYC metropolitan area (commutable distance to NYC) to be considered*

Target compensation for this role starts at $90k/yr.
