Job summary

Creative Apparel Concepts, a Golden Valley, MN-based apparel wholesaler, seeks a Garment Development & Technical Designer to translate design concepts into quality garments and accessories. You will work with Product Development and Production teams to ensure fit, quality, cost, and timeline targets across sleepwear, apparel, and bags.

This hands-on role supports major retailers and licensed brands. The ideal candidate has strong technical design expertise, hands-on product development

Qualifications

• Degree in Apparel/Garment Design & Technical Design or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience in technical design, apparel development, or product development.
• Experience with fabrics, mainly knits.
• Experience in sleepwear/apparel categories.
• Understanding of apparel construction and manufacturing techniques.
• 5+ years working with garment patterns and communicating corrections to factories.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency with Adobe Illustrator.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and quick to learn.
• Strong garment measurement and specification knowledge.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work both independently and collaboratively.
• Experience with factories and global sourcing partners.
• Experience with fabric & garment testing, production inspections, and QA.

Responsibilities

• Attend product development meetings for CAC brands and customer programs.
• Manage garment development from concept through commercialization.
• Develop garment designs and silhouettes from trend direction and category needs.
• Collaborate with vendors to select fabrics, trims, and construction methods.
• Support on projects and cost-efficiency initiatives without compromising quality.
• Develop non-garment products like bags and cosmetic cases using same standards.
