Job summary

Verto People Ltd in San Francisco seeks a Senior Technical Designer to lead technical development from design development through construction documentation and administration. You will coordinate with designers, project managers, consultants and contractors to protect the design intent while ensuring buildable, code-compliant spaces.

The role is hybrid in San Francisco with a base salary range of $115,000–$145,000 plus benefits, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) and ESOP, and generous

Qualifications

• 8+ years in interior architecture or technical design
• Experience delivering corporate workplace and commercial interiors
• Advanced Revit and BIM proficiency
• Knowledge of construction documentation and interior detailing
• Understanding building codes, accessibility, egress and life-safety requirements
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary consultants and complex building systems
• Understanding materials, finishes, millwork and construction methods
• Experience with construction administration and resolving field issues
• Ability to lead technical coordination while maintaining design intent
• Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills
• Mentoring and supporting less experienced team members

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across workplace and commercial interiors from design development through construction
• Translate design concepts into buildable, code-compliant solutions
• Lead the development and coordination of construction documents
• Develop and review plans, elevations, lighting, power/signal and interior details
• Lead interior detailing, millwork and custom architectural elements
• Coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, lighting, A/V and other building systems
• Work with Project Designers to maintain design intent during technical development
• Lead drawing coordination and QA/QC reviews
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, fabricators and vendors
• Conduct field surveys and document existing conditions
• Support permitting and agency approvals
• Lead construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, site observations and punch walks
• Resolve technical and construction issues during project delivery
• Mentor junior and intermediate designers and support technical development
