CAD Designer
Please note: this is an on-site position in Midtown Manhattan where we work in office 5 days/week!
Key Responsibilities
- Create 2D CAD flat sketches from original samples, garments, specifications, and reference photos while collaborating with the Design and Sales teams.
- Conceptualize and develop junior apparel designs aligned with current fashion trends and customer needs.
- Demonstrate knowledge of garment specifications and construction within the Junior Apparel industry.
- Collaborate with the Team Leader on new projects, trend research, product development, and sketch creation.
- Create CADs, colorways, and graphics for use by the Sales, Design, and Production teams.
- Maintain and organize CAD, graphics, prints, and artwork libraries.
- Modify house artwork, body sketches, and graphics to meet customer requests and seasonal color and trend direction.
- Prepare and present fashion flats and CAD presentations for buyer meetings and product development reviews.
- Utilize Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop proficiently, with a strong understanding of color matching, including Pantone and CSI color standards.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced fashion environment.
- Prioritize assignments effectively while maintaining accuracy, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Maintain a high level of organization and ensure all work is completed accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Design, Sales, Production, and Merchandising.
- Demonstrate initiative, adaptability, and a positive team-oriented attitude.
- Assist in preparing artwork packages and production-ready files for overseas vendors.
- Ensure CADs and artwork are accurate and production-ready prior to release.
- Support seasonal line development by updating existing styles and creating new colorways.
- Maintain consistency with brand standards and customer requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Textile/Print/Fashion/Graphic Design preferred
- 3+ years of experience in CAD or Print Design
- Extremely proficient in Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator
- Strong color sense & color converting from fabric to Pantone/CSI colors
- Versatility in a fast-paced environment
- Highly organized with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects with strict deadlines
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize workload

Target compensation for this role starts at $70k/yr dependent on experience
