Summary: The Senior Technical Designer will be involved in the production garment cycle from SMS to TOP fit stages. They will help with fitting garments, while executing design intent and maintaining brand standards following the directions of the Production Team and Technical Design Managers. They will provide technical expertise in garment fit, construction, and manufacturing, and communicate clearly and professionally with design/production teams to adhere to merchandising calendars and meet production deadlines.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Assist the production team in developing clear and concise tech packs, including measurement worksheets and construction images, aligned with design intent.
- Manage designated styles from SMS to TOP fit stages, updating tech packs as needed for fittings and reviews.
- Measure garments accurately before fittings.
- Participate in fit sessions and assist with making corrections.
- Update tech packs with construction callouts, details, specs, BOMs, and label pages to provide clear corrections for vendors and partners.
- Communicate daily with domestic and import vendors/partners to resolve production and quality issues, fit comments, and update tech packs accordingly.
- Finalize production tech packs with fit comments, measurements, grading, and label pages.
- Conduct quality control inspections on bulk production size sets and submit reports.
- Support the Technical Design team in meeting calendar deadlines and due dates.
- Collaborate daily with cross-functional teams including Design, Production, Web, VPR, Logistics, and Sales.
- Report to Production Managers and work closely with them.
Requirements:
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in Technical Design.
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Technical Design, Patternmaking, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience in womenswear RTW is preferred.
- Proficiency in garment fit, construction, and specifications.
- Knowledge of patternmaking and pattern corrections.
- Experience working with overseas vendors/partners.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and work efficiently under deadlines without sacrificing quality.
- Strong organizational skills, technical skills, and attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to follow directions and work independently or collaboratively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop).
Salary: $90,000 - $100,000
