Job summary

RGNext seeks a qualified technologist to support Global Information Grid facilities on Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands. This is an unaccompanied overseas assignment with full benefits, including housing and meals.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in electronics or related technical field required or military equivalent.
• Five years’ experience in communications with at least four years in Technical Control or fixed station operations.
• Basic PC operation required.
• Ability to patch, test, frequency changes, troubleshoot and restore communications circuits.
• Proficient with test equipment (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, and related gear).
• Ability to read schematics and manuals to diagnose faults and perform restorations.
• Must be able to relocate to Kwajalein Atoll, Marshall Islands and obtain/maintain U.S. passport.

Responsibilities

• Exercise control and supervision over GIG facilities, transmission systems, trunks and circuits.
• Report status per DISA directives and submit required reports.
• Coordinate with DISA NetOps centers to troubleshoot and restore service.
• Implement DISA R-Plans, MECLs, and LRPs as directed.
• Develop LRPs and review R-Plans for accuracy and updates.
• Perform quality control tests on trunks, channels, circuits and equipment.
• Ensure quality of GIG transmission, timing, synchronization and switching gear.
• Analyze system and equipment performance and coordinate fault correction with stakeholders.
• Perform testing, acceptance and activation/deactivation of trunks and circuits per DISA orders.
• Manage network operations including bandwidth control and downtime planning.
• Arrange for user release of circuits for testing and maintenance.
• Maintain records per DISA circulars.
