Hyatt Corporate in Chicago is seeking a Senior Technical Business Analyst/Data Architect to translate loyalty business needs into detailed backend requirements for engineering and QA. Responsibilities

  • Translate high-level loyalty business requirements into detailed functional and technical requirements for engineering and QA teams.
  • Analyze and document workflows, business rules use cases, data elements, validations, error handling and integration dependencies.
  • Define data mappings, interface specifications, API requirements, message flows and lineage across Hyatt systems and the vendor-managed Loyalty Management System.
  • Facilitate requirements workshops with Loyalty Operations, business SMEs, engineering, architecture, QA, product management and vendor partners; document decisions and open questions.
  • Support engineering and QA execution by clarifying requirements, reviewing solution designs, defining test scenarios and acceptance criteria, and helping assess defects and change impacts.
  • Coordinate with Loyalty Operations and technical teams when production issues affect member earning or redemption, including triage, impact analysis, root-cause investigation and follow-through on corrective actions.

The Opportunity

The Senior Technical Business Analyst/Data Architect helps turn Loyalty business needs into detailed, implementable requirements for the backend systems that support member earning and redemption. Working within the Loyalty Management Systems team, this role bridges Loyalty Operations, business stakeholders, engineering, QA and vendor teams. The role analyzes API integrations between Hyatt systems and the vendor-managed Loyalty Management System, defines data and process impacts, supports delivery and testing, and helps ensures the success and accuracy of loyalty transactions. The Role

  • Facilitate requirements workshops with Loyalty Operations, business SMEs, engineering, architecture, QA, product management and vendor partners; document decisions and open questions.
  • Support engineering and QA execution by clarifying requirements, reviewing solution designs, defining test scenarios and acceptance criteria, and helping assess defects and change impacts.
  • Coordinate with Loyalty Operations and technical teams when production issues affect member earning or redemption, including triage, impact analysis, root-cause investigation and follow-through on corrective actions.
Qualifications
Experience Required:
  • Demonstrated progression as a technical business analyst, systems analyst, data architect or in a related technology role supporting integrated backend systems.
  • Strong experience analyzing and documenting detailed business, functional and technical requirements.
  • Hands-on understanding of APIs, integration patterns, data mapping, data modeling, message flows and system dependencies.
  • Experience supporting software engineering and QA teams through design clarification, test planning, defect analysis and implementation.
  • Experience troubleshooting production issues across multiple systems and coordinating with operations, engineering and external technology partners.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, communication and facilitation skills; experience with loyalty, payments, travel or other transaction-based systems is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Experience Preferred:
  • Previous experience in Hospitality and/or Loyalty Systems
  • Strong organization skills
  • Must be able to work independently and simultaneously manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel as required on a national basis (approximately 5-10%)

The salary range for this position is $130,000 to $140,000. This position is also eligible to earn incentive awards and an annual bonus. The final pay rate/salary offered to the successful candidate will depend on experience, skill level and other qualifications for the role, as well as the location of the performance of work. Pay for the successful candidate will meet local requirements, including the local minimum wage rate.
