- Use SQL queries and joins to investigate data, validate requirements, analyze issues, and support development efforts.
- Understand relationships between data sources, applications, business processes, and downstream systems.
- Work with stakeholders to clarify ambiguous requirements and identify gaps before development begins.
- Ensure requirements are complete, testable, technically feasible, and clearly understood by the Engineering team.
- Maintain documentation as requirements and solutions evolve throughout the development lifecycle.
Engineering Team Collaboration, Analysis & Defect Remediation — 30%
- Work day-to-day as an embedded member of the Software Engineering team.
- Collaborate directly with Software Engineers, Data Engineers, QA, Product, and other technical resources.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, planning sessions, refinement, technical discussions, and delivery activities.
- Investigate application and data defects to determine expected versus actual behavior.
- Perform data analysis and use SQL to assist with root-cause analysis and defect remediation.
- Help Engineering teams reproduce issues, understand business impact, and determine appropriate solutions.
- Validate completed development against documented requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Support testing, troubleshooting, and issue resolution throughout the development lifecycle.
Project Owner & Delivery Partnership — 20%
- Partner closely with the Project Owner and Delivery Lead to ensure assigned work remains healthy, properly defined, and on track.
- Provide visibility into requirements status, dependencies, defects, risks, and potential delivery issues.
- Identify gaps or blockers early and work with the appropriate stakeholders to resolve them.
- Help prioritize and refine the team's backlog based on business needs, technical dependencies, and delivery objectives.
- Ensure Engineering has the information and requirements necessary to successfully execute its work.
