Illinois Commerce Commission seeks a Technical Advisor II - IDP Attorney in Chicago to provide legal guidance and representation for ICC staff before Administrative Law Judges and state and federal courts.

You will analyze statutes, review legislation, and advise on regulatory initiatives while supporting staff in docketed matters and comments to federal agencies. The role requires a law degree and active Illinois license; incumbent works 8:30 am to 5:00 pm at the Chicago office.

Qualifications

• Requires a law degree and an active license to practice law in Illinois.
• Experience with legal research, analysis, and advising on regulatory matters is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represents staff before Administrative Law Judges at the ICC and in state/federal courts.
• Researches and provides legal analysis on matters before the ICC and during daily operations.
• Reviews legislation, analyzes proposed initiatives, and advises on legislative actions.
• Represents ICC before courts on matters arising from Commission actions.
• Performs duties within the scope of listed responsibilities.
