Job description

Signalink a dynamic, Service-Disabled, Veteran-Owned Small Business defense contractor committed to excellence in providing advanced defense solutions. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Technical Advisor to provide expert-level guidance in the development, design, fabrication and integration of aviation systems for defense applications. The ideal candidate will leverage their technical expertise and industry knowledge to drive strategic initiatives, optimize engineering solutions, and support strategic growth efforts. This role is pivotal in shaping the company's engineering capabilities and ensuring alignment with industry best practices and emerging technologies.

Responsibilities and Duties :

  • Provide technical expertise in the design, development, fabrication and integration of advanced aviation systems, including avionics and other mission-critical subsystems.
  • Advise on engineering strategies to enhance system performance, reliability, and compliance with defense industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineers, program managers and business development personnel, to shape technical proposals and project execution.
  • Conduct technical risk assessments, trade studies and feasibility analyses to support program decision-making.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, fostering technical excellence and knowledge transfer within the organization.
  • Engage with government agencies, other defense contractors, and industry partners to ensure alignment with customer needs and regulatory compliance.
  • Support strategic growth initiatives by contributing to technical proposals, white papers, and presentations.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in aviation system design and defense contracting.

Requirements and Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Aerospace, or a related technical discipline.
  • 15+ years of experience in aviation systems engineering, with a strong background in defense applications.
  • Expertise in avionics, aircraft systems integration, or related aerospace technologies.
  • Deep knowledge of DoD acquisition processes, military standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven experience providing technical guidance on complex engineering projects.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong ability to prioritize and accomplish tasks in a dynamic environment against tight deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.

Preferred Experience and Knowledge :

  • Active security clearance is highly preferred.
  • Experience with multiple Army Aviation platforms.
