Job summary

SHINE Technologies seeks an Associate Director of Technical Accounting & SEC Reporting to drive accounting research, external financial reporting, and ICFR activities as a public company. You will partner with Accounting, FP&A, Legal, Tax, and external auditors to ensure accurate disclosures and timely filings.

The role requires a CPA and 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including SEC reporting and SOX controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Active CPA license required (or actively pursuing).
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and/or corporate technical accounting or SEC reporting experience.
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements (Regulation S-X and S-K), with hands-on experience preparing or reviewing 10-K and 10-Q filings.
• Experience researching and documenting complex accounting matters (ASC 606, 842, 805, 718) and drafting technical accounting memoranda.
• Experience with SOX internal controls and working directly with external auditors.
• Experience with SEC reporting and XBRL tools (e.g., Workiva) and ERP systems preferred; strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting concepts to non-accounting stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced, public-company environment.

Responsibilities

• Technical Accounting Research & Policy: research, document, and communicate accounting treatments for complex transactions under U.S. GAAP.
• Draft memoranda and present findings to management and external auditors.
• Monitor evolving standards and SEC rule changes and assess impact on disclosures.
• Assist in updating accounting policies to reflect new standards.
