Job summary

Bed Bath & Beyond is seeking a senior technical accountant to uphold US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements. You will prepare quarterly and ad-hoc technical memos, research new accounting standards, and ensure internal controls align with external 10-Q/10-K reporting requirements.

You will provide technical accounting consultation across acquisitions, stock-based compensation, and lease accounting, while liaising on company-wide initiatives to ensure GAAP compliance and strong governance.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and SEC Regulations.
• Experience with quarterly and ad-hoc technical memos.
• Experience with SEC filings and public company reporting.
• SOX compliance experience and detail-oriented approach.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a high level of technical proficiency in US GAAP and SEC Regulations.
• Prepare quarterly and ad-hoc technical accounting memos.
• Research, interpret, and document new accounting standards for internal controls and external reporting.
• Provide technical accounting consultation on US GAAP implementations and projects.
• Manage accounting and disclosure for stock-based compensation and equity investments.
• Liaise on company-wide initiatives affecting accounting for US GAAP compliance.
• Provide technical consultation on internal control matters and process documentation.
• Assist external reporting team with complex regulatory reporting and quarterly SEC filings.
• Facilitate internal training across accounting and business operations on compliance.
