Job summary

Proven Recruiting partners with a fast-growing company in Houston to bring on a Senior Accountant, Corporate & Technical Accounting. This newly created role is ideal for someone eager to grow, coachable, and ready to make an impact on a lean, high-visibility accounting team.

You'll prepare technical accounting research, support SEC reporting, review contracts, and manage monthly close around stock-based comp and debt. Bachelor's in accounting/finance, 3–5 years experience; CPA preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience, preferably transitioning from audit or advisory at a Big 4, Top 10, or mid-size firm.
• CPA highly preferred, or actively pursuing/planning to pursue.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical accounting research and memos on topics including revenue recognition (ASC 606), leases (ASC 842), stock-based compensation, impairment, going concern, and debt/equity
• Support the SEC reporting function by assisting with 10-K/10-Q preparation
• Review contracts for accounting implications, including revenue recognition and lease treatment
• Handle monthly close responsibilities (journal entries/reconciliations) around stock-based comp, debt, and other general accounting areas
