Job summary

Virgin Galactic is seeking a Senior Technical Accountant to join the Accounting and Financial Reporting team. You will contribute to timely and accurate financial reporting, support SEC filings, and perform technical accounting research across GAAP initiatives.

You will coordinate with the GL, Cost, FP&A, HR and Legal teams, prepare journal entries, assist in external audits, and help maintain SOX 404 processes. CPA preferred; 5+ years of public accounting or corporate experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• 5+ years of relevant financial accounting experience
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• CPA preferred
• Strong understanding of US GAAP

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation of SEC filings including 10-Q, 10-K, earnings releases and proxy
• Analyze financial statements and provide MD&A narratives and fluctuation analysis
• Prepare consolidated trial balance, cash flows, statements of stockholders' equity and EPS
• Track and update ASC and SEC disclosure requirements
• Assist in technical accounting research and provide guidance across functions
• Experience with equity, stock-based compensation, asset impairment, debt and revenue recognition
• Prepare technical accounting memos
• Maintain SOX 404 documentation
• Coordinate external audit process and interactions with auditors
• Monitor and update corporate accounting policies
• Perform journal entries and reconciliations for complex areas
• Work collaboratively to achieve goals
