Job summary

Athene is seeking a Senior Strategic Sourcing and Vendor Manager in West Des Moines, IA to lead technology and professional services sourcing, including software, SaaS, cloud services, and staff augmentation. You’ll drive RFx processes, negotiate complex terms, and build strong vendor governance with cross-functional partners.

Ideal candidates bring 6+ years in procurement and proven ability to deliver measurable business value, with strong negotiation skills and knowledge of cloud and licensing

Qualifications

• 6+ years of procurement and strategic sourcing experience across IT software, SaaS, cloud services, IT services or professional services.
• Experience leading RFx processes, supplier evaluation, contracting and delivering measurable business value.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills with senior executives.
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure and software licensing models.
• Familiarity with procurement technology and contract-management tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic sourcing and category strategies across technology and professional services.
• Lead complex sourcing initiatives from market assessment through supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contracting.
• Negotiate complex agreements and terms balancing risk, value and service levels.
• Build supplier relationships and governance via KPIs, SLAs and business reviews.
• Drive cost optimization, analytics, and continuous improvement using AI/automation where suitable.
