Job summary

Teradyne seeks a Lead Transaction Principal to own and execute mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic technology transactions across semiconductor and capital equipment businesses. You will lead end-to-end deal processes, partner with engineering, product, and executive leadership, and drive post-close integration planning.

The role requires 15+ years of experience in technology M&A or investment banking, with hands-on engineering background and a top-tier business school master’s

Qualifications

• 15+ years of professional experience in technology companies or investment banking
• Hands-on engineering experience earlier in career (e.g., product development, systems or software engineering)
• Experience leading complex M&A or strategic transactions with direct execution responsibility
• Strong ability to engage credibly with senior engineers and executives
• Sound judgment in valuation, deal structuring, and trade-offs decisions

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end M&A and strategic transactions across semiconductor tech segments.
• Lead deal strategy, valuation framing, and execution from evaluation through close.
• Coordinate cross-functional deal teams spanning engineering, product, operations, finance, legal, tax, and HR.
• Evaluate target technologies, architectures, IP portfolios, and manufacturing implications.
• Translate diligence findings into product strategy and integration considerations.
• Prepare investment theses, valuation analyses, and board-ready recommendations.
• Manage external advisors while keeping internal ownership of decisions.
• Support post-close alignment and transition planning.
