Job summary

Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures seeks a Sr. Technology Licensing Associate to advance the commercialization of university‑owned software and digital technologies through licensing and related transfer activities.

You will manage a portfolio, source opportunities, and negotiate licenses. Reporting to the Director of Licensing, you will collaborate with inventors, startups, and established companies, perform market assessments, and guide strategy on IP, open-source, and software licensing.

Qualifications

Advanced degree required; no substitutions.
Four years of licensing and technology transfer experience required.
Education or experience substitutions are not allowed.

Responsibilities

Develop positive relationships with inventors to identify licensing opportunities.
In concert with peers, make decisions around patenting, marketing, and licensing of JHU inventions.
Engage with investors and companies to determine their needs and identify applicable JHU technologies for licensing.
Negotiate high-value IP licenses for optimal deal structure, valuation, and compliance.
Work under the Director of Licensing; may mentor junior personnel.
Make recommendations but not final decisions concerning investments in technologies.
Other duties as assigned.
