Cardinal Health is seeking a Senior Software Engineer within Commercial Technologies to lead design and delivery across backend and frontend domains, ensuring end-to-end solution integrity. You will mentor engineers, drive architectural decisions, and align with product owners to mitigate risk while advancing system standards.

The role emphasizes hands-on development, code reviews, and proactive collaboration with security and risk teams to deliver high-quality enterprise solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 8+ years of hands-on software development experience on enterprise platforms.
• Experience with SDLC processes and system design.
• Ability to lead complex technical initiatives and resolve production issues.
• Experience with build and run operational practices and risk/security collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Own technical execution quality for assigned solution areas and delivery of components.
• Lead design and code reviews to ensure standards and best practices.
• Identify technical risks early and propose mitigations with delivery leadership.
• Provide system and architecture awareness to fit end-to-end solutions.
• Define reference architectures and promote standardization and reuse.
• Create technical documentation to guide critical decisions and continuity.
• Act as senior IC providing deep technical leadership without enterprise ownership.
• Lead complex initiatives with independent implementation plans.
• Translate business needs into sound technical designs and decisions.
• Partner with Solution Owners, Product, and delivery teams to assess feasibility and risks.
