Job summary

JPMorgan Chase & Co. is seeking a Sr. Lead Software Engineer within the Enterprise Technology - Cloud Financial Management Group. You will guide an agile team to design, build, and deliver trusted technology products in a secure, scalable way.

As a core technical contributor, you will drive AI-assisted development, set standards for code quality and security, and collaborate across business support functions to align with firm objectives in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience.
• Advanced in modern front-end development with React JS, including component-driven architecture, state management, performance optimization, and building responsive, accessible user interfaces.
• Hands-on experience modernizing front-end applications and automation scripting for the front end (UI testing, build/release automation).
• Advanced in one or more programming languages, specifically Java or Python.
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools with the ability to validate AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations and secure handling.
• Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little oversight.
• Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
• Advanced understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
• In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
• Practical cloud native experience.

Responsibilities

• Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
• Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others.
• Drives adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across teams to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
• Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to improve value realized by automation.
• Drives decisions that influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations.
• Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus.
• Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the SDLC.
• Identifies opportunities to automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
• Leads evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs.
