Davis Wright Tremaine LLP seeks an experienced Tech and Intellectual Property Litigation Associate to join our IP litigation team in New York, Seattle, or Washington, DC.

You will handle high-stakes disputes in federal courts, ITC, and PTAB, collaborating with market-leading technology clients and senior litigators to develop sophisticated litigation strategies across cutting-edge sectors.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school with an excellent academic record.
• Bar admission (or eligibility) to the state you work in.
• 3–7 years of IP litigation experience, including patent litigation in federal courts, ITC hearings, and/or PTAB proceedings.
• Technical background in sciences or related fields required.
• Excellent research, analytical, and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with partners to handle complex IP disputes in district court, ITC, and PTAB for high-profile clients.
• Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies for patent validity, infringement, and related issues.
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery plans, and other critical documents.
• Prepare for depositions, hearings, and trials, including evidence review and expert engagement.
• Stay updated on IP law developments, standards, and patent misuse defenses.
• Support appeals and amicus briefs before the Federal Circuit and Supreme Court.
