Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Accounting; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
• Must have at least 8 years of related experience in corporate, governmental, or public accounting and knowledge of federal, state, and local income tax laws.
• Demonstrated leadership experience, managing a team and setting direction.
• Ability to contribute to strategic plans and department strategy.
• CPA license with permit to practice preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage tax planning, research and compliance for income taxes with focus on minimizing the tax burden.
• Develop tax legislative agenda and respond to emerging tax legislation in collaboration with state/local tax authorities and industry participants.
• Ensure compliance with all tax laws by supervising timely and accurate income tax returns.
• Support tax return positions through audits, protests, and coordination with outside counsel.
• Record income tax accounting data for financial reports, budgets, and rate cases.
• Promote staff development and efficient work assignment.
