LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a Senior Tax Manager for a growing, employee-owned organization in the Kansas City area to own a complex multi-entity tax function with both domestic and international operations.

You will oversee tax compliance and governance, partner with external advisors, lead tax technology initiatives, and collaborate with Finance, Legal, Operations, IT and other stakeholders to drive efficiency and risk mitigation.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA preferred, but not required.
• Minimum of seven years of experience in public accounting, corporate tax, or tax compliance.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. indirect tax and multistate compliance.
• Experience with international tax, VAT, OSS/IOSS, audits, or transfer pricing preferred.
• Experience evaluating or managing tax technology platforms such as Avalara, Vertex, or a similar system strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a multi-entity, multi-jurisdictional environment.
• Proactive, resourceful, and comfortable partnering with internal stakeholders, tax authorities, auditors, and external advisors.

• Maintain strong tax controls, documentation, and processes.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Operations, IT on tax matters.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and strengthen controls.

This is an excellent opportunity for a well-rounded tax professional to take ownership of a complex, multi-entity tax function with both domestic and international operations. The Senior Tax Manager will oversee tax compliance and governance, partner with external advisors, lead tax technology initiatives, and collaborate with key stakeholders across the business.

Responsibilities

• Oversee domestic and international tax compliance across a multi-entity organization.
• Manage indirect tax matters, including sales and use tax, property tax, VAT, GST, business licenses, nexus, and multistate registrations.
• Coordinate outsourced income tax compliance and related deliverables with external tax advisors.
• Support international expansion, legal entity structuring, and statutory audit requirements.
• Lead the evaluation, implementation, and ongoing management of tax technology platforms.
• Coordinate transfer pricing studies, intercompany documentation, cost-plus calculations, and year-end true-ups.
• Manage tax notices, audits, and inquiries across federal, state, local, and international jurisdictions.
• Maintain strong tax controls, documentation, and compliance processes across the organization.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Operations, Supply Chain, and IT on tax matters related to new initiatives and business growth.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and streamline tax workflows.
