We are working with a well-respected CPA and advisory firm in New York City that is actively seeking a Trust & Estate Tax Director to join its growing practice. This is a highly visible leadership role focused on servicing a sophisticated client base of high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and private trusts.

The firm is known for its white-glove client service, deep technical expertise, and long-standing relationships across generations of families. This role will be pivotal in driving tax strategy, compliance, and planning for complex estate, gift, and fiduciary matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the firm’s Trust & Estate tax practice, providing strategic guidance and technical oversight on complex engagements
• Advise clients on estate planning, gift tax strategies, trust structuring, and generational wealth transfers
• Manage a team of professionals while mentoring and developing junior staff
• Collaborate with internal partners across tax, accounting, and advisory service lines
• Maintain strong relationships with high-net-worth clients, family offices, attorneys, and financial advisors
• Monitor changes in tax law and proactively communicate planning opportunities to clients

Ideal Qualifications:

• CPA and/or JD/LL.M. required
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Trust & Estate taxation within a public accounting or private wealth advisory environment
• Deep technical knowledge of federal and state-level estate, gift, and fiduciary tax rules
• Proven ability to manage client relationships and lead a book of business
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative, service-oriented approach
• Interest in long-term leadership and future equity opportunity is strongly preferred
