Job summary

Wipfli is seeking a seasoned tax professional to join our team in Missouri. You will lead complex partnership reviews, provide tax consulting for partnership clients, and manage multiple client engagements with a focus on Sub-chapter K taxation.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or industry, a CPA license, strong leadership and client-relations skills, and willingness to travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
• CPA or licensed member of the Bar.
• 5+ years of progressive tax compliance and/or tax consulting experience in public accounting or a mix of industry/public accounting.
• Excellent analytical, technical, and tax accounting/technology skills with knowledge of partnership returns and Sub-chapter K taxation.
• Exceptional client service and communication skills with ability to develop and maintain client relationships.
• Strong leadership, recruiting, training, coaching, and mentoring skills with excellent written/interpersonal/presentation abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and priorities in a fast-paced environment; travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate primary reviews of complex tax returns and provide tax consulting for partnership clients.
• Evaluate tax aspects of partnership agreements and manage IRC 704b accounts.
• Manage multiple client services teams on engagements; plan, execute, direct, and complete tax projects; develop and implement tax-planning strategies; manage to budget.
• Manage, develop, train, and mentor staff on tax projects and assess performance.
• Research and consult on various tax matters, primarily Sub-chapter K partnership taxation; use tax software to prepare returns and research tax matters.
• Respond to IRS and other tax authorities inquiries.
• Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations, meet deadlines, and strengthen relationships.
