Wipfli is seeking a Tax Manager to lead and manage tax engagements in line with firm standards. The role focuses on high-net-worth clients, proactive communication, and timely service. You will mentor staff and maintain expertise across tax disciplines.

Located in the Chicago area, this role offers a collaborative firm culture and opportunities for growth within a respected CPA practice. Applicants should have a CPA and 5+ years of experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent.
• CPA certification in the state of practice.
• 5+ years of tax-related experience.
• High Net Worth tax experience required.
• Public accounting experience desired.
• Mentoring experience with staff.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage tax compliance engagements within budget and deadlines.
• Plan and schedule tax engagements with clients and firm resources.
• Serve as the main tax point of contact for clients and advisors.
• Provide proactive client communication and timely service.
• Review tax work papers and provision calculations prepared by others.
• Review returns for Individuals, Trusts, Gifts, and Estates; perform tax research and prepare deliverables.
• Communicate project status and opportunities with clients and engagement partners.
• Provide training, direction, and supervision to staff and seniors.
• Maintain technical expertise across tax disciplines relevant to our clients.
