Kforce's client, a well-established firm in the Quincy, MA area, seeks an experienced Tax Manager to lead client engagements, oversee tax department activities, and deliver high-quality tax compliance, planning, and advisory services.

This hybrid role is ideal for a licensed CPA with strong technical tax expertise, proven leadership, and the ability to manage complex client relationships. The client offers salary, benefits, great team culture events, work/life balance and other company perks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Active CPA license required.
• 10+ years of public accounting tax experience.
• Experience supervising and developing staff.
• Strong knowledge of multi-state taxation and tax audits.
• Proficiency with tax research and preparation software; ProSystem and BNA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and review tax returns, extensions, planning calculations, and related deliverables.
• Review federal and multistate returns for various entity types.
• Prepare and review tax-planning projections for individuals and businesses.
• Oversee client engagements, deadlines, workflow, and service quality.
• Research complex tax matters and document findings with memoranda.
• Manage audits, notices, and inquiries with authorities.
• Delegate engagements based on staff capabilities and workload.
• Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to staff.
• Communicate with clients, leadership, colleagues, and taxing authorities.
• Support business development, proposals, and client needs assessments.
• Improve departmental software use and workflows; participate in special projects.
