Job summary

BDO USA in Spokane, WA is seeking a Tax Manager for Core Tax Services - Corporate/ASC 740. The role advises clients on tax effects of business objectives and leads complex tax issues while ensuring compliance with tax regulations.

You will engage in marketing and business development within your area of expertise and may provide written tax advice to clients. Responsibilities include managing tax compliance, research, ASC 740 accruals, and tax consulting, with supervisory duties over associates

Qualifications

• Five or more years of tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting or consulting/professional services experience, required
• Prior supervisory experience, required
• CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a U.S. jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (“EA”) (or the equivalent of one of these designations), required
• Experience with tax research databases and tax compliance process software, preferred

Responsibilities

• Ensures clients comply with all applicable authorities while minimizing tax and reporting burdens and aligning with Firm policies
• Plans and reviews the tax process: budgeting, staffing, time management, billing, and collections
• Manages client relationships and provides timely tax advice
• Identifies when research is needed and frames issues for research; prepares WTA and tax returns
• Explain components of income tax provision and ASC 740 details to clients; coordinate with Assurance
• Supervises associates and senior associates on projects and provides review comments
• Leads and develops team members and delegates effectively
