Job summary

Whitley Penn is seeking a Senior Tax Manager to serve as a liaison between partners, clients, and staff. You will oversee multiple tax returns and engagements, manage client relationships, monitor engagement economics, and guide teams toward high‑quality outcomes.

This role requires 7+ years in public accounting, active CPA, and a bachelor’s in accounting (master’s preferred). You will develop client service plans, handle complex tax issues, and contribute to firm growth through advisory

Qualifications

• Active CPA license and strong knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code.
• 7+ years in public accounting with tax return exposure.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting; Master’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between partners, clients and staff for multiple engagements.
• Review and supervise tax returns (1065, 1040, 1120, 1120S) and estimates.
• Develop client service plans; monitor engagement economics and revenue opportunities.
• Provide guidance and mentoring to junior staff and ensure compliance.
