About the Opportunity
A growing and highly respected public accounting firm is seeking an experienced Tax Senior Manager to join its Healthcare & Professional Services practice. This is a senior-level opportunity for a tax professional who wants to move beyond compliance and take a more strategic role in client advisory, tax planning, team leadership, and business development.
The Senior Manager will work closely with business owners, healthcare professionals, and other professional services clients, providing sophisticated tax planning and consulting solutions while developing long‑term client relationships.
This role offers the opportunity to work closely with Partners and firm leadership while taking a meaningful role in developing staff, expanding existing client relationships, and helping grow the firm's presence within the healthcare market.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a portfolio of individual and business tax engagements, with a particular focus on flow-through entities.
- Provide proactive tax planning, consulting, and compliance services to healthcare and professional services clients.
- Advise business owners and high‑level individual clients on complex tax matters and identify opportunities to improve their overall tax position.
- Prepare and review complex individual, partnership, corporate, trust, and estate‑related tax matters.
- Research and resolve complex federal, state, and local tax issues and communicate the implications clearly to clients.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and proactively advise clients on how new regulations may affect their businesses and personal tax situations.
- Build strong, long‑term relationships with clients and become a trusted advisor on their tax and business needs.
- Work closely with Partners, Directors, Senior Managers, and staff on client management, engagement strategy.
- Lead, supervise, and mentor Associates and Senior Associates, helping develop their technical and professional skills.
- Manage engagement deadlines, workflow, budgets, and overall client satisfaction.
- Participate in recruiting, training, and professional development initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to expand services with existing clients and contribute to the firm's overall growth.
- Represent the firm at networking events and within professional and business organizations.
- Develop relationships within the healthcare and professional services communities to generate new business opportunities.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of public accounting experience with a strong concentration in taxation.
- CPA license or law degree required.
- Strong technical knowledge of individual and business taxation.
- Significant experience with partnerships, S Corporations, C Corporations, and other flow‑through entities.
- Experience with trusts, estates, and complex tax planning.
- Healthcare industry experience strongly preferred.
- Experience working with privately held businesses and their owners is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of complex tax issues and the ability to provide practical, commercially focused solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership, mentoring, and relationship‑building abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements and priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
- Strong business development mindset with the ability to identify opportunities and build relationships.
- Proficiency with accounting and tax software.
