Position Overview:

Seeking a highly skilled and experienced Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager to serve as a number two within the firm. This role will manage a team, serving as a key client contact, and providing expert technical guidance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in individual income tax preparation (Form 1040), excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to manage client relationships. The role reports directly to the owner.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of tax preparers, providing guidance and support throughout the tax preparation process.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional service and clear communication.
• Review complex individual income tax returns (Form 1040) and related filings.
• Provide technical expertise on individual tax matters, including trust taxation.
• Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the firm's tax practice. Over time, manage your own book of clients.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

• A minimum of seven years of public accounting experience, with a focus on individual income tax preparation.
• Strong technical expertise in Form 1040 preparation and related tax issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients. Proven management experience, with a track record of leading and developing a team.
