Job summary

gpac and a well-established public accounting firm seek a tax leader to advance the tax department. The role focuses on managing tax planning, compliance, and client advisory for individuals, partnerships, and corporations.

You will supervise a team of tax professionals, mentor staff, and build strong client relationships while delivering innovative tax strategies and ensuring regulatory compliance in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• CPA designation required or in good standing.
• 7+ years of public accounting experience with a focus on tax management.
• Strong knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and accounting principles.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all aspects of the tax department, including tax planning, compliance, and reporting.
• Provide expert guidance and advice to clients on complex tax matters.
• Stay up-to-date with changes in tax regulations and ensure compliance at all times.
• Lead a team of tax professionals and provide mentorship and training.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships to drive business growth.
• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and corporations.
• Develop and implement innovative tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and optimize financial outcomes for clients.
• Conduct thorough research and analysis to resolve complex tax issues and provide appropriate solutions.
• Review and approve tax returns, financial statements, and other tax-related documents.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely completion of tax projects.
• Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in tax management.
