Job summary

Verital Advisory Search in Chicago seeks a Senior Tax Associate to join its growing tax team. This role blends individual, S corporation, partnership, and trust returns with meaningful client interaction and ownership of engagements.

You will mentor junior staff, collaborate with managers and partners on technical issues, and help deliver accurate filings on deadlines. Flexible hybrid schedule with regular office presence is available.

Qualifications

• Public accounting tax experience with the ability to work independently at the senior level.
• Experience with individual, S corporation, partnership, and trust returns.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with clients.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and follow assignments through to completion.
• Interest in supporting and developing junior staff.
• Big Four experience is welcomed but not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, S corporations, partnerships, and trusts.
• Communicate directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and keep engagements moving.
• Manage assigned projects independently and meet filing deadlines.
• Assist with tax notices and related correspondence.
• Mentor junior associates and interns, including training on technology and internal processes.
• Collaborate with managers and partners on technical questions and engagement delivery.
