Job summary

Aprio, a Top 20 CPA and advisory firm, is seeking a Senior Tax Associate in Rockville, MD to join the Tax Team. You will help clients maximize opportunities through tax planning, consulting, and compliance services while building lasting relationships with middle-market and large clients.

You will oversee the preparation and filing of tax returns, develop tax strategies aligned with business goals, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
• Recent work experience with an accounting firm.
• 3-5 years of experience in federal tax consulting and/or compliance experience in public accounting.
• Experience in Corporate, S-Corp. and/or Partnership returns.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer expertise including knowledge of tax software and technology.

Responsibilities

• Interacting closely with clients to provide tax planning, consulting, and compliance services benefiting clients in diverse industries.
• Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all required tax returns.
• Develop and implement tax strategies that optimize our company's tax position while considering business goals, industry trends, and regulatory changes.
• Collaborate with clients and provide proactive tax advice and solutions.
• Lead and manage a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to foster their growth and development.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service.
• Coordinate workload distribution, projects, and training initiatives within the tax department.
