Job summary

Mercer Advisors seeks a Sr. Tax Associate I to join the Tax Team. The role focuses on preparing income tax returns, projections, and analyses for high-net-worth clients, coordinating with wealth advisors, and delivering excellent client service without the traditional billable-hours focus.

The position offers a flexible work-from-home schedule, with opportunities to work from the office and periodic team collaboration visits. Requires 1–3 years public accounting experience and CPA/EA preferred.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of public accounting experience or equivalent
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• Moderate tax code knowledge and general accounting skills
• CPA and/or EA preferred; Master’s in Tax a plus
• Experience with CCH Axcess/Workflow/Practice and SafeSend is a plus
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to explain concepts to clients clearly
• Detail-oriented and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Prepare tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, trusts and businesses
• Create quarterly estimates and projections
• Communicate clearly with clients on tax deliverables
• Perform tax research and respond to client questions
• Coordinate with tax staff to manage workflow and data integrity
• Stay updated on tax law changes and communicate effects to clients
• Contribute to a collaborative tax team environment
