Job summary

BELAY is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant for its Financial Solutions division. The role combines hands-on tax preparation with advisory support, client relationship management, and mentorship across the team.

The position emphasizes sustainable workloads and work-life balance in a remote-first setup, with occasional travel for company events and meetings. Collaboration with Tax Managers and leadership is a key aspect of daily work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3–6 years of progressive tax accounting experience.
• Experience preparing and reviewing individual, partnership, and corporate tax returns.
• Experience with tax planning and projections.
• Strong working knowledge of federal and state tax laws.
• Experience managing multiple client engagements within deadlines.
• Proficiency with tax software including QuickBooks Online and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for assigned clients and provide timely tax support.
• Prepare and review complex individual, partnership, and corporate returns.
• Conduct tax planning and projections year-round.
• Research federal and state tax matters and IRS/state correspondence.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to staff accountants.
• Identify opportunities to improve team efficiency and processes.
