Job summary

Withum's Tax Services Group is a brilliant team of tax specialists that help clients meet tax obligations and minimize taxes. As a Tax Senior based out of our Lincolnshire, IL; East Brunswick, NJ; Princeton, NJ; Red Bank, NJ; or Whippany, NJ office, you'll lead tax engagements, supervise staff, and build client relationships.

You will spend time preparing complex returns, reviewing staff work, researching tax matters, and identifying planning opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• CPA license or in progress.
• MS Taxation preferred but not required.
• 3-5 years of public accounting tax experience.
• Excellent analytical and technical tax skills.
• Strong client service & communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements in a fast-paced team.
• Strong leadership, training and mentoring skills.
• Excellent presentation and written skills.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Preparing complex individual, trust, partnership and corporate tax returns.
• Reviewing mid-level complexity tax returns prepared by staff for accuracy.
• Researching and drafting memoranda involving complex tax matters.
• Identifying tax planning opportunities.
• Handling and resolving tax controversies.
• Managing multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to meet client deadlines.
• Providing supervision, training and support to engagement staff and partners/managers.
