Job summary

BDO USA provides tax, advisory and assurance services to clients across the U.S. and around the world. The Tax Senior, Customs & International Trade helps identify trade issues and opportunities, advising clients on import/export matters in various industries.

Role includes researching tariffs and regulations, delivering potential savings, mentoring Associates and Interns, and collaborating with client service teams on engagements and proposals.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of import/export trade consulting experience required.
• CPA or attorney license preferred; EA or customs broker also acceptable.
• Bachelor's degree required; JD/LLM/MBA preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office and legal/tax research databases.

Responsibilities

• Research, write, and review international trade advice related to HTS, regulations, NAFTA, entry processes and valuation.
• Research U.S. and international import/export matters.
• Formulate ideas and deliver trade savings opportunities.
• Collaborate with firm specialists and client service teams on engagements and proposals.
• Organize internal CPE training in the area of specialization.
• Establish relationships with BDO customs experts across jurisdictions.
• Draft tax alerts on international customs and global trade matters.
• Assist in managing client expectations.
• Other duties as required.
