Job summary

H&R Block, Inc. is seeking a year-round Block Advisor Tax Advisor to prepare complete tax returns for individuals and businesses, conduct client interviews, and provide personalized tax planning.

This in-person role offers training, tools, and an incentive plan aligned with client outcomes. Applicants should have 5+ years in tax-related fields, strong communication skills, and the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment
• 5+ years of experience in tax preparation, accounting, finance, or bookkeeping
• Experience preparing complex individual and business returns, including tax planning, audit support, and tax notice resolution
• Experience in a client-facing, consultative, or advisory role
• Strong verbal and written communication, able to explain tax concepts clearly to clients
• Must complete continuing education and meet IRS/state requirements
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete, accurate tax returns for clients with diverse and complex situations
• Conduct in-depth client interviews to understand financials and tax implications
• Provide personalized recommendations and build long-term client relationships
• Offer IRS support, tax notice assistance, and audit guidance as needed
• Collaborate with team and contribute to a positive, client-focused office environment
